Cultural icon undergoes restoration
The Tue Thanh Assembly Hall in Ho Chi Minh City is currently undergoing restoration in order to preserve its unique architectural features for future generations. The site will remain open to tourists throughout the restoration.
Located in District 5, near Ho Chi Minh City’s Chinatown or ‘Cholon’ district, the Tue Thanh Assembly Hall is a Chinese-style temple with a long history dating back to the 18th century. The religious centre was first established by the city’s Cantonese community and remains an impressive example of traditional craftsmanship, recognised for its cultural and artistic significance.
The four-month restoration plan began on 6 September 2024 and will focus on repairs to the site’s protective fence, iron gate, facade lighting and interior sections. For more information about visits during or after the restoration, contact Asian Trails Vietnam
