Paddle through paradise on river adventure
Designed for adventure travellers, Asian Trails’ Black River Expedition is an exciting three-day journey that combines stand-up paddleboarding, camping and the stunning landscapes of the Da River, which is also known as the Black River.
This immersive experience draws inspiration from the works of Vietnamese author Nguyen Tuan (1910-1987) and his literary masterpiece, Nguoi Lai Do Song Da (The Ferryman on the Da River), which beautifully captures the cultural and natural allure of this enchanting region in Vietnam.
Following in the footsteps of Nguyen’s legendary ferryman, guests explore the untouched wilderness around Van Yen (Son La) and Ngoi Hoa (Hoa Binh), taking on the Da River’s swirling rapids and challenging terrain.
Paddling up to 20 km per day, explorers camp under the stars at peaceful riverside locations and journey through spectacular, lush landscapes. This adventure is more than just a physical challenge; it offers an opportunity to fully immerse oneself in Vietnam’s rich natural beauty and literary heritage.
Departing from Hanoi, the expedition requires a basic level of fitness and preparedness for outdoor conditions. Open to travellers aged 16 and above, this unforgettable journey is now available for bookings. For more details, contact Asian Trails Vietnam
