New flights open up Laos-Myanmar route
Travellers can now explore new routes in South-East Asia with the launch of direct flights between Yangon, Myanmar and Vientiane, Laos.
The first Myanmar Airways International (MAI) flight linking the two neighbouring countries took off last week on 25 June 2024. The inaugural occasion was marked by a ceremony at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane attended by authorities of both countries and representatives of the airline.
With this new flight option, travellers can now experience more of the region’s diverse cultures, combining a visit to the Laotian capital with exploration of Myanmar’s ancient landscapes.
The direct service will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, using Airbus A319 and 320 and Embraer E190 aircrafts.
