Hue seen from a new angle
Hue seen from a new angle
Visitors to the former imperial capital of Hue can view this historic city from open-top buses. Asian Trails is incorporating this new form of transport into many of our tours as these vehicles offer a new perspective of this historic city’s most iconic landmarks.
Passengers are conveyed past a series of tourist sites such as Thien Mu Pagoda, the Imperial Citadel, Dong Ba Market, Tu Hieu Pagoda and the Royal Tombs. Hue was previously the feudal capital of the Nguyen Dynasty – Vietnam’s last royal family who ruled from 1802 to 1945.
Tourists have a wealth of sites to explore, including the UNESCO acclaimed Imperial City, the structure that dominates the city. Thirteen Nguyen Dynasty emperors have ruled from this citadel which is modelled on Beijing’s Forbidden City.
