Urban Singapore, with its towering skyscrapers and glitzy shopping centres, is not known for its farms, but the Lion City does have a rustic enclave.
A tour to a city centre farm ensures children do not miss out on trips to the countryside to see where their food comes from. To facilitate this, Asian Trails has designed a three-hour exploration of a 3,000 sq-m experimental green space. Visitors have ample opportunities to help with the rearing of crops in an urban garden that embraces a pesticide-free approach.
As less than one per cent of Singapore’s territory is dedicated to farming, this family-friendly excursion will reveal an alternative side to the city-state.
