Hanoi’s Train Street closed to visitors
Due to safety concerns, the capital city’s popular ‘Train Street’ has been removed from the tourist trail.
In recent years, the section of the railway track near Cua Nam, Hang Bong and Cua Dong streets had become a popular, yet unofficial, tourist attraction. Small coffee shops began to open up alongside the rails as visitors flocked to the area to capture photos of commuter trains passing just inches away.
However, the increasing number of tourists has created safety issues and to prevent potential accidents, authorities have ordered the closure of all cafés in the area and tours are now banned.
