Focus on community-based tourism in Myanmar
In collaboration with Helvetas Myanmar, a leading Swiss NGO, local tourism development authorities in Myanmar are exploring new eco-tourism sites and projects covering three main regions in the country.
The three sites – Thanattan and Phayar Lay Village in Bago State; Zote Thoke Village and Mhu Tin Village, between Yangon and Mawlamyine; and Dare Village on Bilu Island in Mon State – have all been designated as community-based-tourism sites and these are set to be launched in 2021.
Helvetas provides learning and educational projects across the globe in order to bring change to the lives of over three million disadvantaged people annually.
