Exploration of Northern Thailand’s rich cultural heritage
Exploration of Northern Thailand’s rich cultural heritage
Regarded as one of the most beautiful provinces in Thailand, with abundant national parks, mountains and vast wildlife, Nan also offers a wealth of cultural exploration opportunities beyond these natural treasures.
These have recently been crafted into our portfolio of heritage themed excursions that capitalise on this area’s traditional Lanna culture. Guests can participate in the charming local tradition of tung handicrafts. This is the creation of flags made from fabric, paper, or wood. These symbolise the people’s devotion to Buddhism and they are used in religious ceremonies in venerable temples across the area.
After participation in this ancient art that dates back to the 13th century when Northern Thailand was known as the Lanna Kingdom, guests can embark on an exploration of Doi Phu Kha, a protected sanctuary which contains a vast landscape of limestone elevations and waterfalls.
