New charter service to link Indonesia and Vietnam
Travellers will soon be able to explore new routes in South-East Asia with the launch of new charter flights between Jakarta, Indonesia and Danang, Vietnam.
Indonesian carrier Citilink Airlines has announced plans to launch the new service within the third quarter of 2024. The Jakarta-Danang route will be the airline’s first entry into Vietnam and the first direct service by any airline to link the wonders of Indonesia with Central Vietnam’s coastal hub.
The airline plans to operate charter flights on a twice-weekly basis with the aim of transitioning to regular scheduled services as passenger numbers increase.
In response to the planned new flights, Danang Tourism has unveiled a plan to welcome travellers with sustainable and eco-friendly tours designed specifically to appeal to Indonesian tastes and preferences.
Among the city’s planned activities are community-based experiences in Danang’s ethnic villages, cycling tours in nearby Hoi An’s agricultural gardens and cultural excursions that highlight the Hindu-Buddhist ties between the two nations.
The city also plans to improve halal-friendly services around the city and install prayer rooms at the airport.
