Workshop on waste raises eco-awareness

As part of Asian Trails’ group-wide commitment to sustainable tourism and support for local businesses, our Cambodia team participated in a workshop focused on plastic waste reduction and recycling.

Twenty-one team members, including General Manager Virginie Kury, attended the training, where they learned about the detrimental impact of plastic waste and explored possible solutions. The session included sorting various types of plastic waste and creating pouches from recycled soft plastic.

The event was conducted in collaboration with Trash is Nice, a social enterprise that collects plastic waste from local businesses in and around Aquation Office Park, where Asian Trails’ Phnom Penh office is located. Trash is Nice gathers around 100 kg of plastic waste each month and uses a custom-built, zero-emission process to transform refuse into durable, high-quality products.

This enlightening experience helped the team to gain a deeper understanding of plastic waste issues and it inspired them to integrate more sustainable practices into our daily operations. We encourage guests to reduce single-use plastic by opting for reusable water bottles when travelling.
