Bicycles, boats and Vespa trails in Phnom Penh
Asian Trails’ team recently had the opportunity to experience new trails in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. Our colleagues took to scooters and bicycles to uncover more hidden corners of the city, combining cultural activities with exciting two-wheeled adventures.
Riding on the back of retro-style Vespas, which were driven by experienced drivers, our team members zipped through the backstreets to see some of the city’s iconic landmarks from a new perspective, including the resplendent Royal Palace and the dazzling Silver Pagoda. The Vespa City Tour was enhanced by local insights and engaging anecdotes provided by the knowledgeable guide.
For a slower-paced experience, the team headed out of the city for a Phnom Penh Bike and Boat Tour. Starting with a gentle bike ride on a small island in the Mekong River, they explored villages and farmland and learned about traditional crafts that are practiced here, such as silk and cotton weaving. To end the day, the team enjoyed a relaxing river cruise and watched the sunset while drifting past scenes of stilted houses and fishing villages.
These two-wheeled tours are a great way to experience Phnom Penh and its surroundings.
Asian Trails’ Managing Director for Cambodia Virginie Kury said, “These experiences have given us a new appreciation of the people and places of Phnom Penh. Whether it was riding on a motor-powered scooter or cycling a pedal-powered bicycle, we were able to see and experience more authentic parts of the city.”
In addition to the Vespa City Tour, Asian Trails offers a variety of scooter adventures in and around Phnom Penh, including a Silk Island Excursion and an After Dark Foodie Tour. Learn more here.
