Asian Trails embarks on new ‘Around Thailand’ journey
Asian Trails’ team recently embarked on an exciting six-day programme in Thailand, exploring highlights of the nation’s capital and the wonders of Northern Thailand. The comprehensive overland journey is part of our upcoming ‘Around Thailand’ seat-in-coach (SIC) tour series which will be available to book from November 2024.
Several of our team members and one of our most experienced guides took part in the journey which showcased Thailand’s rich heritage and diverse landscapes. In Bangkok, the group travelled by long-tail boat for a cruise along the Mahasawat Canal.
Heading north, they visited the historical city of Ayutthaya and a picturesque lotus plantation before hopping on a bike to explore the 13th-century city of Sukhothai.
The group then explored Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle region before ending in Chiang Mai where they had a chance to experience some new eco-friendly initiatives such as an electric tuk-tuk excursion and an ethical elephant sanctuary.
This six-day tour offers a unique insight into Thailand’s past and present, blending classic temple visits with scenic boat rides, sustainable crafts, agricultural experiences and local culinary delights at handpicked restaurants.
The tour is part of our new ‘Around Thailand’ series, which will feature 4-to-7-day journeys exploring the country’s lesser-seen gems. Options for English-speaking or multilingual English/German-speaking guides will be available with weekly fixed departures offered alongside private tours.
