Operations Officer | Thailand
About the role
The Operations Officer at Asian Trails takes care of all transportation services (land and sea) in the destination, including coordinating with guides when required. The successful candidate will handle the complete operation process and be able to record all activities in the system. In this role, you will become part of a young and dynamic team in our operations department.
Responsibilities
- Collect all data about transfers in order to prepare the schedule and job orders for drivers;
- Prepare documents to be delivered to the airport and distributed to the drivers;
- Create transfer bookings in the system with driver assignment and cost allocation;
- Send booking requests to sea and land service providers in the destination;
- Prepare and send quotations requested from the head office or any other department;
- Negotiate with suppliers and make sure that all is in line with the requirements;
- Coordinate and work closely with other departments of Asian Trails Thailand for any request;
- Occasionally follow up and collect payments from customers on the spot;
- Willingness to travel out of office to handle some requests, if required;
- Foster good relationships with hotels, suppliers and drivers;
- Other tasks as assigned by the head of the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in the hospitality and tourism industry;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a travel & tourism company is an advantage;
- Fluent command of English, both verbal and written is essential;
- Good command of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and computer skills;
- Experience with FIT/GIT/series bookings and specific knowledge of Thailand and/or South-East Asian destinations are an advantage;
- Detail-oriented and good negotiation skills is an advantage;
- Organised, able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and be flexible with working hours especially during peak season;
- Willingness to travel for work and spend time outside the office when required;
- A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking;
- This position is open for Thai nationals only.
