Business Development Manager (Latin Markets) | Vietnam
About the role

The role of the Latin Markets Manager is an integral role in the development of new collaborative efforts and maintaining internal procedures within our office in Vietnam. The most suitable candidate will actively participate in the development of new business opportunities while also maintaining existing relationships with Spanish, Portuguese and Italian customers travelling to Vietnam. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, the ideal candidate will become a part of a great team of travel professionals in Vietnam.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for new and existing business development strategies and planning in both the leisure and MICE segment in the Spanish, Italian, French and Latin American markets;
  • Liaise with customers to understand the requirements and anticipate needs in collaboration with all relevant departments;
  • Work with different departments in Vietnam and their respective managers with focus on sales, product development, operations, quality control measures and customer relations;
  • Ensure that all relevant data is uploaded in Asian Trails’ administration system;
  • Be responsible for all programmes, itineraries, quotations and accounting matters as well as product development for the aforementioned departments;
  • Work in alignment with the company’s Standard Operating Procedures and corporate guidelines in daily operations;
  • Stay in regular communication with new and existing accounts in designated markets, working towards mutually-sustainable growth and troubleshooting;
  • Conduct ongoing product development, pricing and itinerary developments for new and existing customers based on trends and demands in these markets;
  • Design and host/coordinate inspection and agent familiarisation trips leading to new business and, where needed, meet with customers in Vietnam;
  • Be the ambassador of Asian Trails Vietnam during trade shows, industry-related events and sales calls.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in tourism; university degree preferred;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management position within the tourism industry;
  • Fluent command of verbal and written English, Spanish / Portuguese and Italian is essential; French is a plus;
  • Experience working in the travel & tourism industry in Vietnam and /or South East Asia is a priority;
  • Proven track record of individual, group and MICE handling capabilities;
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications and computing skills, including the use of DMC related software;
  • Open for some travel within Vietnam and abroad;
  • Have capability in developing standards, quality management, coordination and coaching techniques;
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season;
  • A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking;
  • A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to prioritise and organise are preferred skill sets to fill this role;
  • Working under pressure is to be expected.
