Assistant Inbound Manager (Asia Market) | Malaysia & Singapore
About the role
The role of Assistant Inbound Manager, Asia Market plays a key role in facilitating communications between our Asian Trails office and our overseas partners, helping to fulfil the needs of our customers. A significant part of the role is ensuring that quotations, reservations and itineraries are designed according to the customer’s requirement in a professional, timely manner. Based in Kuala Lumpur, the ideal candidate will become a part of a great team of travel professionals in Malaysia.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Inbound Manager in coordinating and executing inbound travel packages and itineraries for the Asia market in Malaysia and Singapore;
- Handle day-to-day operations such as responding to customer inquiries, processing bookings, site inspection and managing supplier relationships;
- Assist the Inbound Manager in sourcing and negotiating ground suppliers’ contracts to ensure that rates are competitive in the market;
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g. operations, finance) to ensure the smooth delivery of travel arrangements;
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to bookings, invoices and other operational data;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and systems to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction;
- Support the Inbound Manager in training, supervising and monitoring the performance of employees.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in the travel/tourism industry, preferably in an inbound operations or customer service role;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory position or senior executive role;
- Strong knowledge of travel destinations, products and services, particularly in the Asia region;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and suppliers;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with travel booking systems;
- Organised, detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment;
- A team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service;
- Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season.
- A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking is an asset.
