Visa-free transit extended in China
Citizens of over 50 countries can now explore more of China following a significant change to the country’s visa-free transit policy. Transit passengers from selected countries can now stay in China without a visa for up to 10 days, or 240 hours, before continuing to their next destination.
This policy update is an extension of the previous three or six-day visa-free stay for transit passengers. This is a great option for travellers who would like to discover the beauty of China as part of an extended journey through Asia.
From the bustling streets of Shanghai to the historical landmarks of Beijing and the spectacular cultural wonders of Xi’an, eligible travellers can now experience even more of the country’s renowned sites, all while avoiding the hassle of applying for a visa.
The following nationals can take advantage of China’s visa-free transit policy: Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States.
