Operations MICE Product Officer (Indian Market) | Thailand (South Thailand Branch)
About the role

Based in Phuket, the Operations MICE Product Officer in our South Thailand Branch will be responsible for product development, creating quotations and providing on-the-ground support for the MICE team in our Bangkok head office.

Responsibilities
  • Create services and cost allocation in the Lemax booking system;
  • Coordinate payments with the finance teams from branch, head office and suppliers;
  • Contact suppliers in destination (Phuket) for any type of request;
  • Guiding/coordinating tasks, such as accompanying groups on inspection trips and during event operation, from arrival to departure. If necessary, supervise the set up and organisation of excursions via sea, land and sky and coordination check ins, gala dinners, conferences and any other special requests required by different groups;
  • Prepare and send quotations requested from the head office or any other department;
  • Negotiate with suppliers and make sure that all is in line with the requirements;
  • Coordinate and work closely with other departments for any request;
  • Handle any last minute requests;
  • Adhere to event safety standards;
  • Support product development efforts for specific accounts or source markets;
  • Foster good relationships with hotels and suppliers;
  • Review contents, descriptions and rates of products in the destination when requested by head office in Bangkok;
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Head of the Department or MICE & Product Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Outstanding organisational skills;
  • Energetic and outgoing personality;
  • Diligence and attention to detail;
  • Bachelor’s degree in the hospitality and tourism industry;
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, depending on the nature of the events;
  • Able to travel at sea to islands in the Andaman Sea;
  • At least 1-2 years of experiences in a travel and tourism company is an advantage;
  • Able to work with foreign nationals;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanour;
  • Fluent command of English, both verbal and written are essential;
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and computer skills;
  • Experience with MICE/FIT/GIT/series bookings and specific knowledge of the Indian market in Phuket and Khao Lak are an advantage;
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented, possess good skills negotiations is an advantage;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Good problem-solving skills;
  • Organised, able to perform under stress, meet tight deadlines and be flexible with working hours especially during peak season, workweek, including weekends, evenings and public holidays;
  • Excellent multitasking ability;
  • Willing to travel for work and spend time outside the office when required;
  • A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking is an asset;
  • Tourist guide license is an advantage;
  • Understand last minutes requirements;
  • Conflict management skills;
  • Have own car or motorbike.
