Kien Trung Palace reopens
Central Vietnam’s Kien Trung Palace is once again welcoming visitors after an extensive five-year renovation. Located within the Imperial Citadel in Hue, the historical landmark reopened during the recent Tet New Year festival, giving visitors a glimpse into the lavish world of the Nguyen Dynasty emperors who ruled over Vietnam during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Part of the Complex of Hue Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the former royal residence combines elements of Vietnamese, French and Italian Renaissance architecture – a reflection of the diverse cultural influences that were spreading across the nation during this era.
